We are waked up early in the morning... The consul called, "consulate cars are coming to you" "but the conditions? they come without tanks and with the ambulances, don't they?" "otherwhise we will experience big troubles to leave. At least we must do this for Palestinian..." Caos. we are some here some there, and we fix that we want to leave only if that make sense for the palestinians too, if that can cause a feeling of pressure. Someone notice of the end of curfew. "why are we waiting they come to carry us? let's go..." Much more caos. it's 11.30. we listen to other tanks that arrive, for the umpteenth time. A lot of bursts explode, each kind of explosion. they sweep the road completely where until some minute before we all have been walking, we had been speaking, we have played with children. As soon as we risk to look outside, we see 14 armoured machines of the diplomatic corps that go along. "Bastard, they are by tanks, they let Israelians to clear the path" Anger. Then there aren't tanks around, and we begin to negotiate with the diplomatics in order to include one ambulance in the caravan. there is much confusion. I and gkd decide to stay...we have a job to end with indymedia Palestine. The situation seems more slack, there are some moments in which curfew is less intense, and in this moments we think we can go out in some days. others have more difficulties...they don't want to forsake Palestinians. not thus. they want know from Palestinians to be in the right way of action, in spite of fear, in spite of doubts and difficulties. At last it's hard to accomodate so many of us for people who live in the camp, too...they give us its bread and give up to eat this bread we receive. Greetings, tears, I have never seen a so taut moment. At last we decide that only a very few people remain. One of them who must work with a cooperative in the camps. A girl who is studying Arabic. Two people the whose ticket is longer valid for some other week. A pair from Indymedia. Last two people are about to climb on the jeep. We hear the first bangs, both from tanks appeared on side streets and snipers. Bullets whistles around is. Last people who were climbing and those who decided to stay here run in to Ibdaa center. Others in the cars. Ten minutes of israelian fire. Within the theet: "bastards, they fire so that they can put tanks both before and after the delegation and make the israeli army look like the internationals fucked rescuers. Bastards!". Cars leave. 7 italias and 2 americans will remain. We stand five minutes thinking. K. runs inside e ask us if we want to go to AIC now. We greet others, we well hear them soon, since we will have to move together anyway. Me, gkd and jev climb along with k and two other palestinians on a Bethlem TV jeep and we catapult to the place we planned. Two days to make what we have to do. The we will come back. I feel free. I'm doing the right thing. Adrenaline goes down slowly sipping some hot tea.
