Meeting against G8 in Athens

Campaign Genoa 2001-Greece calls an open meeting to discuss campaign against G8, June 2007, Germany.

In Greece, December 2006 is a month of struggle against neoliberal government pushing their agenda of attacks on public education and health, privatization of ports and telecommunication. On December 13th Greek Trade Unions call a 24hours General Strike. Students and teachers are preparing action against revision of article 16 leading to privatization of higher education system.

On December the 11th, Campaign GENOA 2001 calls a meeting with initiatives, campaigns, trade unionists to open the campaign against G8. After, the successful campaigns against the G8 July 2001, Evian and Scotland, activists are preparing a new round of actions in 2007: WSF in Nairobi, antiwar day of 17th of March, solidarity with Pakistani Community leader Javied Aslam, July 2nd in Germany against the G8.

After, Athens European Social Forum, we expect this campaign to attract thousand of activists resisting neoliberal globalization and war, thousand of students and workers who resisted Greek neoliberal government last months in education with occupations and strikes.
