Olmert e Barak: “abbiamo raggiunto tutti i nostri obiettivi a Gaza”

Il piano prodotto dalla diplomazia egiziana, che media tra Israele e Hamas, prevedeva una tregua di un anno e il ritiro entro una settimana delle forze israeliane da Gaza. Con questo annuncio di tregua unilaterale, però, Israele si svincola da qualsiasi concessione prevista nell’ac
cordo, pretende una tregua indefinita da parte di Hamas e si arroga il diritto di mantenere l’occupazione della Striscia di Gaza. Il memorandum di intesa Usa-Israele firmato oggi a Washington tra la Condoleezza Rice e laTzipi Livni impegna gli Stati Uniti ad aiutare Israele nel contrasto al contrabbando di armi verso la Striscia, “via mare, per via aerea o via terra”. Mentre, ovviamente, il mastodontico afflusso di armi da Washington verso Tel Aviv non subirà rallentamenti, anche se negli ultimi due conflitti Israele ha impiegato quelle armi contro civli, in Libano nel 2006 come oggi a Gaza. Tzipi Livini ha detto a Wasghington che le operazioni delle forze israeliane a Gaza “mirano ad agevolare il processo di pace, non a danneggiarlo”. Le operazioni che ‘mirano’ ad agevolare la pace hanno totalizzato in 22 giorni di massacri 1205 vittime, di cui 410 bambini, e 5300 feriti, di cui 1630 bambini.

ROMA - La guerra di Gaza si avvicina alla fine: questa sera il governo israeliano dovrebbe ratificare formalmente il cessate-il-fuoco che è già stato approvato dalla trojka Olmert-Livni-Barak. L’accordo con le parti internazionali dovrebbe essere poi ratificato domani in Egitto, a Sharm El Sheik, in un vertice a cui gli egiziani stanno invitando in queste ore alcuni tra i principali leader mondiali.
Oltre all’israeliano Olmert, all’egiziano Mubarak e al presidente dell’Autorità nazionale palestinese Abu 
Mazen, l’Egitto vorrebbe avere a Sharm il segretario dell’Onu Ban Ki Moon, il segretario di Stato Usa Condoleezza Rice, e i capi di governo di Russia, Francia, Germania, Italia e Turchia, assieme ad altri. Il presidente del Consiglio Silvio Berlusconi avrebbe cancellato tutti i suoi impegni per domani per tenersi pronto a volare in Egitto dalla Sardegna.
Il summit di Sharm el Sheik non sarebbe solo una cerimonia, un evento per i media e le televisioni. In assenza di Hamas e di leader del fronte radicale (Siria e Iran), la riunione sarebbe il segnale politico necessario per sancire uno dei risultati più delicati della tregua, la creazione di una forza “di interposizione” o “di controllo” che sigilli il confine tra Egitto e Gaza per impedire il contrabbando di armi verso Hamas. Per questo gli egiziani vorrebbero avere un buon numero di leader mondiali a Sharm. Tra l’altro l’Egitto ha bisogno di “annegare” il suo accordo con Israele e le strette di mano tra Olmert e Mubarak in una scenografia più ampia, in cui siano presenti altri leader mondiali.
Venerdì a Washington Condoleezza Rice e il ministro degli Esteri israeliano Tzipi Livni avevano firmato un primo accordo Usa-Israele in cui gli americani si impegnano bilateralmente a fare di tutto per bloccare i rifornimenti di armi verso la striscia di Gaza. La Livni ha commentato la firma dicendo che “si tratta di un salto di qualità nella lotta al contrabbando delle armi per Hamas: si parla di operazioni militari e di intelligence da svolgersi nel Mar Mediterraneo, nel Golfo Persico, nel Mar Rosso e anche di fronte all’Africa Orientale, e non solo lungo il confine fra Egitto e Gaza”.
Secondo fonti diplomatiche sentite da “Repubblica”, la Nato sta valutando la possibilità di impegnare una sua flotta per il controllo dei mari al largo di Gaza e nel Mar Rosso; da tempo le unità dell’Alleanza Atlantica sono impegnate nel Mediterraneo orientale (crisi Libano, missioni anti-terrorismo, missioni anti-pirateria), per cui la nuova missione troverebbe la Nato pronta a un impegno in cui la stessa Italia potrebbe svolgere un ruolo di rilievo.
La decisione israeliana su una tregua unilaterale concordata ieri a Washingon dalla ministro degli Esteri Israeilana, Livni, insieme a Condoleezza Rice, dovrebbe essere annunciata a breve. Si attende in serata una conferenza stampa del premier israeliano Olmert.
