Police Move In to Berkeley Protest

Students gathered in Sproul Hall.

At the U.C. Berkeley campus, police were moving in to break up a sit-in at the school Thursday afternoon.

Officers began arresting demonstrators who staged a protest inside the administration building starting at about 1pm. Meantime, a larger gathering of anti-war protesters continued to mass in Sproul Plaza.

The city of Berkeley was also holding a protest, march, and candlelight vigil starting at 4pm at Martin Luther King park.
