Subject: RE: GENERAL INFORMATION

Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company regarding the allegations that have been made against the company and two Coca-Cola bottlers
operating in Colombia, South America, in a lawsuit filed in Miami, Florida, in July 2001. We appreciate the opportunity to communicate with you on
this issue, Tatavasco.

First of all, we would like to emphasize that this lawsuit contains outrageous allegations against the company and its bottling partners. The company regards the charges of responsibility for the murder and torture of
union members as especially preposterous.

A comprehensive and thorough investigation of the facts of this case has revealed no evidence to support the allegations made against the company and our bottling partners. Neither the company nor its bottlers committed or directed any abuses of trade unionists in Colombia. We did not, and do not now, condone such abuses.
< BR>These charges are calculated for public relations shock value and have been made primarily in the hope of furthering political and social objectives. They have nothing to do with the beverage industry in Colombia or even with the specific allegations underlying the complaint.

The core principles by which the company runs its business do not ever permit it to engage in the types of activities alleged in order to sell its products. The company believes that the unfounded allegations are an insult.

We believe the company's presence, as well as our investment in Colombia, improves, not worsens, the climate for human rights. We contribute to the
sustainable growth and development of economies, societies and environments with our business, making us a force for poverty reduction and human rights promotion. The more than 60,000 direct and indirect jobs that our system generates in the country are clear evidence of this.

Since 1940, when the Coca-Cola system began operating in Colombia, the company has been very involved in the Colombian community through a variety of initiatives, including those that relate to disaster relief, educational programs, and sports sponsorship, among many others.

As always, we appreciate the opportunity to keep an open dialogue with you and appreciate that you were mindful that these are allegations that have
been made against Coca-Cola and these bottlers, not statements of fact. Please feel free to contact us if we may be of assistance or may provide
additional information in the future.

Please visit our Web site again if we can be of further assistance to you.
