1-ask the National Assembly of Wales to cut all trade and sporting links with Israel's government

Palestine Solidarity Campaign

To All A.M.s
We have been reliably informed that Israel is one of the countries with which the National Assembly
has sought to develop trade links. Israel is a first world country where 1 million Palestinians live as
third class citizens. During 35 years of its illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, Israel has
flouted more than 22 UN resolutions calling on it to observe international law, human rights legislation
and the Geneva conventions, calling for it to withdraw from the occupied territories and end collective
punishments, detention without trial, torture and indiscriminate violence against civilians. In the past
two years alone, 2,100 Palestinians have been killed, and 41,000 injured. The Palestinian economy
has been systematically strangled by roadblocks and the destruction of houses, businesses, hospitals,
schools and agricultural land. Its cities have been under continuous siege and curfew, resulting in levels
of unemployment of 84% in some areas. 75% of Palestinians live on less than $2 a day. The apartheid
wall currently under construction will cement the destruction of Palestinian society, isolating hundreds
of villages, while illegal settlements continue to grow freely, stealing precious land and water resources.

You must agree that this catalogue of human right abuses is intolerable in a society that claims to be a
democracy. Tony Blair is calling for a sporting boycott of Zimbabwe because of its human rights record;
but Israel's documented violations of international law surely demand similar strong action on the part of
the international community.

On behalf of Palestine Solidarity Cymru, we ask the National Assembly of Wales to cut all trade and
sporting links with Israel's government until such time as it obeys international law and works for a lasting
peace with the Palestinians.
Yours sincerely

3-Israeli Occupation Forces Terrorise 3 Palestinian Families and Two ISM Activists Before

Abducting Palestinian Man

On Friday night soldiers of the Israeli occupation force (IOF) stormed the house of the family of Barak

Kilfeh who was involved in a suicide attack in Tel Aviv a month ago. During the attack the IDF soldiers

terrorised the 3 families and 2 ISM activists living in the house, and arrested one Palestinian.

Martial, a French ISM activist was woken up at 2:10 am when 1 jeep, 1 APC and 1 Hummer (special

forces vehicle) stopped outside the house. Minutes later soldiers stormed the upper part of the house

where they forced all 20 inhabitants into one room at gunpoint. They then used one Palestinian man

as a human shield to search the two flats upstairs, ransacking the two flats, emptying all cupboards

and terrorising the families and the activist with shouts and threats at gunpoint. The IDF soldiers
then took another Palestinian as a human shield to storm the flat downstairs, occupied by the Barak

family and a Swedish ISM activist.

When Margareta, an activist from Sweden, questioned the soldiers motives for the terrorizing the

family a soldier pushed his M16 into her chest to force her to sit down.

At one point during the 40 minute operation Barak's mother was put on the phone with an Israeli

Intelligence Services officer who asked her if she wanted all her sons to be suicide bombers.

When she replied no and that she didn't want any Israelis hurt either, the officer told her that they

would take Mohammad and that she will have to look after Rjai, her 15 year old son, on her own.

The soldiers then took Mohammad to an unknown destination. When Margareta questioned their

motives for his abduction they replied that he was a terrorist without providing any other details the

arrest. The 22 year old Mohammad Kilfeh, an employee of the Nablus municipal office who has

not been involved in any political activities, was the sole breadwinner in his family since his
father died when he was 16.

4-Once there were targeted killings

Gush statement of the week
published on the website and in Ha'aretz Hebrew, Friday edition (Feb. 07, 2003)
http://www.gush-shalom.org

Once there were
Targeted killings.
Now there are
Killings everywhere.

Once they demolished
A house here, a house there.
Now they demolish
Houses everywhere.

Sharon & Co.
Do not serve Israel.
They serve
The settlers.

They babble about peace,
They prattle about security,
They want transfer.

Gush Shalom,
