First hearing of the counter-exam of the witness Corda.

Corda is the policeman who was given the task, with 5 other colleagues, to
collect any video documentation of the G8.

Later on, the Prosecutor Canciani verbally ordered him to edit a videoclip
(whose final result are the three DVDs considered today) concerning
the offences related to "damage, devastation and sacking, that is,
taking things away", as himself tells us.

During the first part of the hearing, nearly all the defense lawyers
spoke to signal the judge any exception, mistake, forged or
lacking find.

The general commentary about the hearing is quite positive, as Corda
officially confirmed that the seizure of the material used in the DVDs
included in the files has taken place AFTER the delivey of the DVDs
themselves (4th July 2003). Another element, potentially positive
despite the great amount of work it will imply for us, is that the
prosecutor has requested the defense to deliver an overall memoire
about all the finds.

It has to be recalled that all the material used by Corda and inserted
in the police database is considered as original finds, since it has
been transmitted to Corda himself, but actually in most cases they are
copies delivered by the police and whose origin cannot be verified by
the defense counsel and even by Corda himself. The delivery letter
reports the quality of the finding itself only for a small fraction of
them.

This morning some accused was present too, but unfortunately too
few. Their presence is really important, but not many seem to realize
this.

In the second part of the couter-exam the defense has questioned Corda
directly. As we often underline, Corda is not considered as a
consultant, but he is a "witness of his own work" litterally. He is a
witness as the inventor and maker of those DVDs and not for having
directly witnessed the facts. For what concerns the answers Corda gave
to the questions of the lawyers, it is to be noticed that he almost
claimed not having sought the present accused during the making of the
DVDs. And the analysis of the video confirms this, since our comrades
are not all present in the video and, moreover, Corda should not know
them at all.

Finally the court president has asked and hoped that the counter-exam
will finish by next tuesday (13th of July) hearing, when we will
directly intervene in the trial to advise the defense counsel about
the questions to be raised about the video.
