Nel corso di una manifestazione di protesta contro le installazioni del Muro dell'Apartheid, che si è svolta ieri 28 luglio 2003 ad 'Anin (a nord-ovest di Jenin) e a cui hanno partecipato circa 250-300 Palestinesi, 40-50 attivisti internazionali dell'International Solidarity Movement e 30 Israeliani, l'esercito israeliano ha sparato lacrimogeni, bombe sonore e proiettili rivestiti di gomma contro i manifestanti ferendo 6 attivisti ISM e alcuni attivisti israeliani.

Oggi, gli attivisti dell'International Solidarity Movement, insieme a Palestinesi e Israeliani sono riusciti ad aprire un piccolo ma simbolico buco nel Muro dell'Apartheid ad Anin, ad ovest della città di Jenin.
Le Forze di Occupazione Israeliana hanno risposto aprendo il fuoco con pallottole rivestite di gomma contro i membri dell'ISM che stavano partecipando ad una manifestazione nonviolenta contro il Muro dell'Apartheid israeliano (definito 'recinzione di sicurezza' dalle autorità israeliane). 5 attivisti dell'ISM sono stati feriti dalle pallottole rivestite sparate da vicino dai militari israeliani attraverso la recinzione che gli attivisti stavano cercando di abbattere. Di questi, 2 sono stati portati in ospedale a causa delle ferite. Altri attivisti israeliani e dell'ISM sono stati feriti dalle bombe sonore fatte esplodere molto vicino a loro, o dai contenitori dei gas lacrimogeni sparati direttamente contro i loro corpi.

La manifestazione era stata indetta dai Palestinesi di Anin e dei villaggi della zona, dei quali circa 250-300 vi hanno partecipato insieme a 50 attivisti dell'ISM e 30 attivisti israeliani. L'obiettivo della manifestazione era di aprire simbolicamente un varco nel Muro dell'Apartheid che separa il villaggio di Anin da oltre 11000 dunam (2750 acri) della sua terra.

Gli attivisti hanno resistito ai lacrimogeni e alle pallottole rivestite di gomma abbastanza a lungo da aprire un varco nella recinzione. Gli attivisti avrebbero voluto anche abbattere segmenti della recinzione, ma a causa delle ferite riportate da alcuni del gruppo hanno dovuto abbandonare quest'ultima azione.

e poi chi vi crede piu dopo le tante "farse" che avete fatto

1) a parte che su una foto sola si vedono molto indistanza soldati che puo essere o no il "wall" ma puo essere anche una base loro.

in nessun'altra foto si vedono i soldati che:

" sparate da vicino dai militari israeliani attraverso la recinzione che gli attivisti stavano cercando di abbattere."
"gas lacrimogeni sparati direttamente contro i loro corpi.

anche nella foto del filo spinato non si vedono soldat.
ma non dovevano essere li a proteggere il filo e ad spararvi?
dove sono?

fence surrounding the Gaza Strip.

Jenin, IDF forces exposed a large bomb weighing
several Kilograms. The bomb to be operated
using a tripwire made of fishing line. The
forces also found three pipe bombs in the
vicinity.

In the Gaza Strip on Sunday night, two mortars
shells were fired near the settlement of
Netzarim. Both landed in Palestinian territory.
No injuries or damage were reported.

Israeli soldiers attack peaceful demonstration

A peaceful demonstration organised to protest against the continued construction of the Israeli “security fence” has been attacked by scores of heavily armed Israeli soldiers.

The protest was held at the fence in the northern West Bank at ‘Anin, near Jenin. Members of the Popular Committees Against the Wall, the Palestinian National Initiative, The International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and the Israeli coexistence group Tayyoush participated in the demonstration, held in front of one section of the two meter high electrified fence.

The non-violent nature of the demonstration was shattered when the Israeli troops fired tear gas and rubber bullets at the unarmed demonstrators. Six people were wounded, including Thomas Bacon from Texas and Andrew Dickie from Scotland who was shot in the thigh and abdomen; another American, one Israeli and two Palestinians had to receive medical treatment.

Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, the secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative who participated in the demonstration and made a speech reported, “The soldiers attacked us after we hung a map of the apartheid wall on the fence itself. The map shows how the Israeli government is stealing even more land from the Palestinians with the construction of this supposed security wall. However, we are not even permitted to demonstrate peacefully without coming under attack.”
