The Iraqi Government announced Thursday that it extended the emergency state for 30 more days all around Iraq except for Kurdistan region.



03/31/05 AP: 3 U.S. soldiers killed during separate clashes in Iraq
One soldier was killed in action Thursday near Hawija, Another soldier died Wednesday when his patrol came under fire in Baghdad. The third soldier died of wounds he sustained Wednesday during a routine check of vehicles in the northern city of Mosul.



03/31/05 CENTCOM: TASK FORCE LIBERTY SOLDIER KILLED IN HAWIJAH
One Task Force Liberty Soldier was killed in action near Hawijah at about 1:50 p.m. March 31. The name of the Soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.


03/31/05 AP: American soldier died from wounds
The military says a U.S. soldier has died from injuries he sustained yesterday in a clash in the northern city of Mosul. He was one of several soldiers wounded in a battle that began when gunmen opened fire from a taxi during a routine vehicle check.

03/31/05 FOX: One Kentucky soldier killed, another severely burned
A National Guardsman from Metcalfe County has been killed in Iraq and another soldier from the same county has suffered severe burns trying to rescue him. Eric Toth was killed Wednesday when the Humvee in which he was riding ran over a land mine.
