non ùsi vuole tanto cervello per capire che l'uno non può fare meno dell'altro... alcuni dati rinfrescati....

SHARON E YASSIN, DUE VOLTI DELLA STESSA MEDAGLIA?

Nelle ore immediatamente seguenti l’uccisione di Yassin non è certo facile per nessuno capire qualcosa di certo rispetto ai veri interessi che possono aver guidato questa azione omicida.

Ma mentre le brigate Al-Aqsa gridano vendetta ai quattro venti – e sicuramente non aspettiamoci la sfilata delle suore benedettine - potremmo almeno evitare di cadere nella banale retorica della “spirale di violenza inarrestabile” che probabilmente ci propineranno da oggi i media ufficiali in ogni salsa e condimento.

Perchè? Perchè la logica si oppone ad una semplificazione così elementare di contrapposizioni assolute, e per più di un motivo: prima di tutto, bisognerebbe domandarsi come mai ogni sacrosanta volta che Sharon stava per incontrare un qualunque dirigente palestinese...

... nell’ambito di un ipotetico discorso di pace, Hamas interveniva a togliergli le castagne dal fuoco con un attentato che lo costringeva regolarmente a cancellare tutto. Questo è accaduto almeno una ventina di volte – contate - dal giorno dell’elezione di Sharon a primo mìnistro, e l’ultima di queste si è verificata proprio la settimana scorsa, in un attentato che ha avuto meno risonanza del solito solo perchè avvenuto nella scia immediata di quello di Madrid. Ma che è costato comunque la vita ad una dozzina di israeliani, sufficienti ad impedire anche stavolta a Sharon di incontrare un leader palestinese che lo aspettava con il caffè già in tazzina.

Ma poi, soprattutto, due sono le domande a cui bisognerebbe dare una risposta valida, prima di escludere una concomitanza di interessi fra Sharon e Yassin (fino a ieri, ovviamente).

1: Perchè Sahron ha per ben due volte permesso ad Yassin di tornarsene a casa, dopo averlo arrestato e fatto condannare in ambedue i casi? La prima volta fu nell’85, quando in seguito Yassin fondava proprio il movimento di Hamas. E dopo averlo arrestato di nuovo nel 1989, e dopo avergli fatto appioppare un bell’ergastolo dal tribunale israeliano, lo ha fatto di nuovo liberare (nel ’97), permettendogli così di tornare a casa, accolto come un eroe mitologico da 15 mila palestinesi impazziti dalla gioia? Non avrà certo pensato che Yassin, una volta rientato, si sarebbe dedicato al giardinaggio, giusto?

2: La seconda domanda è ancora più ingombrante: perchè mai, visto che Hamas rivendicava ormai regolarmente tutti gli attentati di questa ultima intifada, Sharon si è accanito a far circondare Arafat, tenendolo a pane ed acqua per tre mesi, mentre Yassin restava libero di muoversi (in senso figurato, ovviamente), di coordinare ed agire come credeva, come se lui con la faccenda palestinese non c’entrasse niente? Se era lui il mandante di tutti quegli attentati – e lo dichiaravano pure tutti apertamente - perchè non tagliare a lui le comunicazioni?

(Trovatemi un solo giornalista che si sia mai posto questa banalissima domanda, e lo pago a peso d’oro).

E’ quindi ovvio che qualche interesse in comune Yassin e Sharon debbano averlo avuto. E diventa quindi d’obbligo pensare che l’accordo – dal passato già non particolarmente sereno - si deve essere incrinato ad un punto di non ritorno. O forse, semplicemente, Sharon ha deciso che è il momento di avviare la mossa finale, e si è liberato di un elemento che non gli serve più, scatenando nel frattrempo la furia di cui ha bisogno per poter entrare una volta per tutte in Palestina e prendersi tutto quello che ritiene suo dal giorno in cui è nato.

Comunque stiano le cose, di sicuro questo omicidio ha permesso a Yassin di fare un ultimo favore a Sharon anche da morto: questa svolta nell’escalation arriva infatti proprio a due giorni da un voto in parlamento in cui Sharon è riuscito a restare in groppa per la bellezza di un solo voto. Ma ora certo c’è l’intifada da fronteggiare, non vorrete mica discutere di un rimpasto proprio adesso!

Hamas è una creazione del Mossad

Secondo Zeev Sternell, storico all'Università Ebraica di Gerusalemme, "Israele ha ritenuto che fosse opportuno e astuto spingere gli islamici contro l'organizzazione per la liberazione dalla Palestina (OLP)". Grazie al Mossad, "l'istituzione israeliana per l'Intelligence e le operazioni speciali", è stato consentito ad Hamas di rinforzare la sua presenza nei territori occupati. Nel frattempo il movimento di Arafat per la liberazione della Palestina, Fatah, così come la sinistra palestinese sono stati sottoposti alla più brutale forma di repressione e intimidazione.

Hamas is considered one of Israel's greatest threats, but the Islamic terrorist organization found its beginnings in the misguided Israeli effort to encourage the rise of a religious alternative that would undermine the popularity of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Yasir Arafat.

The strategy resulted in the birth of Hamas which rose from these Islamic roots. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was a member of the government when the policy was developed in the late 1970s.

Although Sharon and his Likud (formerly Herut Party) government colleagues could not anticipate that the Islamic leaders they backed would eventually evolve into Hamas and suicde bombings, the two have benefited from each other's extremism over the years.

Speaking in Jerusalem Dec. 20, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Kurtzer made the connection between the growth of the Islamic fundamentalist groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and Israel's promotion of the Islamic movement as a counter to the Palestinian nationalist movement. Analysis: Hamas history tied to Israel

In the wake of a suicide bomb attack Tuesday on a crowded Jerusalem city bus that killed 19 people and wounded at least 70 more, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, took credit for the blast.

Israeli officials called it the deadliest attack in Jerusalem in six years.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon immediately vowed to fight "Palestinian terror" and summoned his cabinet to decide on a military response to the organization that Sharon had once described as "the deadliest terrorist group that we have ever had to face."

Active in Gaza and the West Bank, Hamas wants to liberate all of Palestine and establish a radical Islamic state in place of Israel. It is has gained notoriety with its assassinations, car bombs and other acts of terrorism.

But Sharon left something out.

Israel and Hamas may currently be locked in deadly combat, but, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials, beginning in the late 1970s, Tel Aviv gave direct and indirect financial aid to Hamas over a period of years.

ISRAEL CREATED HAMAS

Driven by domestic political pressures, Sharon is coming to Washington armed with a 100-page dossier supposedly proving, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Arafat personally ordered and planned the suicide bombings. His "proof" comes, we are told, from "captured documents" supposedly taken out of Arafat's offices, left lying around by fleeing PLO personnel. Uh huh. Very convincing, but, as the Los Angeles Times had the temerity to report,

"U.S. officials say they plan to remind Sharon of Israel's attempt to foster an alternative to the nationalist Palestine Liberation Organization by encouraging Palestinians in the 1970s to turn to their religion. One result was the growth of Hamas, one of three extremist groups behind the recent spate of suicide bombings in Israel."

Ouch! The last time I mentioned Israel's past sponsorship of Hamas, we received at least half a dozen letters saying, essentially, "how dare you even imply such a thing!" Well then, here we have it out of the mouths of our own officials – and so, I ask you, is the government of the United States run by anti-Semites? Or by Americans who have decided, for once, to put America first? We report. You decide.
